For
those of you who know me, you know I talk a lot about visual texture.
About the importance of those little details that make a big difference
(even for a single frame).
But
sometimes, no matter what I do to add intricacy to my edits visually,
it feels like there’s an invisible wall I just can’t seem to cross to
get my edits where they need to be.
It’s
only been in the past year or so that I’ve realized that when you start
adding texture and layers below the line in your edit (not just above) -
that’s when films get really rich really fast. In other words, when you
focus on the SONIC textures of a film as well as the visual textures,
you can take it from good to great.
